The Environment group from Larisa in Bollnäs

Day 1, Monday Aug. 23 .

Our friends from Greece arrived to Arlanda Sunday night at 11 PM.

After a busstour through the dark night, they arrived at the apartments in Bollnäs. Ulla and Jan helped them.

An early start in the morning to go by bus to the Kilafors school, where mrs Britt Gruving-Fjellner (headmaster of the school) and Barbro Berger and her colleagues were waiting for us. Pupils and their teachers told us about the control of the environment of the school. A short walk into the school forest where we were all trated to a nice meal with hot coffee and cold ice.

The afternoon was spent in the county city of Gävle. The college of Gävle offers various kinds of environment courses. Björn Ansnes, teaching science at the college, was an enthusiastic guide into the science and environmental programme of the college.

For the evening programme Delta Kappa Gamma - a union of female teachers - was responsible. The President, mrs Monika Berg, welcomed the Greek teachers in the beautiful Concert Hall of Gävle
